The Carolina Panthers selected Davis in 2005 during the first round. He spent 14 seasons at Carolina, most of which as team captain, then in 2019 signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. After one year, he played for The Washington Football Team, then in 2021 signed a one-day contract to return home and retire as a Carolina Panther.
On the field, Davis was both All-Pro and a 3 time Pro Bowler. For his service off the field, Davis was given the highest honor in the NFL in 2014 when he was presented with the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award during the NFL Honor Awards. His mark as a leader on the field is only shadowed by his role as a community leader, helping countless people in need across three states. Davis founded the Thomas Davis Defending Dreams Foundation (TDDDF) to help youth realize their past does not determine their future and that they too can one day live their dreams.
