Discovery Place Science (DPS) is one of the most established institutions in Charlotte’s cultural landscape. Since its founding in 1946 as the first science education center in the Southeast, the Museum's importance to our field and community continues to grow, as it serves hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. The only STEM-oriented museum in Center City, DPS has inspired curiosity, encouraged invention, and moved millions of visitors to develop and pursue their passions for science, technology, and nature. Through hands-on exhibits, educational outreach programs, and professional development for pre-K—12 teachers throughout the region, DPS is a leader in STEM education in the Carolinas. DPS aspires to shape a future where people embrace science to create opportunities, build hope, solve problems, and bring positive change for our world.

Through funding from the Charlotte Center City Partners Innovation Grant, 704 Shop partnered with DPS to design and develop several limited edition co-branded products to generate additional revenue for the both entities which had been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
